5.Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes, when performed by a dental professional, teeth whitening is safe and effective with long-lasting results.
6.What are dental implants and are they the right option for me?
Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots, onto which crowns (artificial teeth) are fixed. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Implants are often best for patients who have lost one or more teeth and have sufficient jawbone. We evaluate bone health, oral hygiene, and your general health before recommending implants.
7.What are “Teeth Aligners” and how do they differ from braces?
Teeth aligners are clear, removable trays custom made to gradually shift teeth into proper alignment. They are nearly invisible and more convenient for eating and cleaning. Dental braces, on the other hand, use wires and brackets fixed to teeth to apply pressure to move them. While both are effective, aligners are more discreet and often preferred by adults, whereas braces can be better in complex cases.
8.Can children get treatment using aligners or braces? Do you have a “Child Dentist”?
Yes, children and teens can benefit from orthodontic treatments like braces or aligners (depending on growth stage). As child dentists (pediatric dentists), we ensure the environment is gentle, friendly, and child-appropriate. We monitor dental development and recommend the best timing and type of treatment for your child’s teeth and jaw growth.
9.What is the difference between ‘Dental Braces’ and ‘Teeth Aligners’?
While both aim to correct misaligned teeth, Dental Braces consist of fixed brackets and wires that continuously apply force to teeth, ideal for complex movements. Teeth Aligners are clear trays you can remove for eating and brushing. They’re more comfortable and aesthetic, but may not suit every case. Our orthodontists decide the best choice based on severity, bite condition, and your preferences.
10.How long does a braces or aligners treatment take?
The duration varies depending on the severity of misalignment, jaw growth, and patient compliance. For mild to moderate cases, treatment might take 12–24 months. More complex cases could take longer. During your consultation, we’ll give you an estimated timeline.
11.Are dental implants painful, and how long is recovery?
The implant surgery is done under local anesthesia, so minimal discomfort is felt during the procedure. Mild soreness, swelling, or bruising may occur for a few days afterward, which is managed with pain medication, ice packs, and soft diet. Most patients resume normal activities within 48–72 hours. Full integration (osseointegration) takes a few months before placing the final crown.
12.How often should I come for checkups during orthodontic or implant treatment?
While undergoing treatment, you’ll typically visit every 4–8 weeks for adjustments, monitoring, or progress checks. Even after treatment, we recommend routine checkups every 6 months to maintain oral health.
